Megan Seymour, PhD, LMSW, MSSW

Meg Seymour received her PhD in psychology from the University of Michigan, where she studied the physical health effects of psychological experiences, such as feeling a sense of purpose in life. She also received her Masters of Science in Social Work from the University of Tennessee, and she has worked in teaching, advocacy for the safety and efficacy of new medical treatments, and as a trauma therapist. She is a certified practitioner of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, a somatic-based form of trauma therapy.
Dr. Meg believes in the transformative power of therapy. She knows that anyone, regardless of what trauma they have experienced or how long they have suffered from its effects, has the capacity to develop improved quality of life and more meaningful interpersonal relationships. Meg draws from her background as a scientist and her experience as a psychodynamic trauma therapist in order to provide research-based treatment that is attuned to the unique needs of each individual.
