Michael Newton MA, MS, LASAC
Primary Therapist
Michael has been affiliated with Sierra Tucson since 2016 in a variety of roles, most currently as a primary therapist. He previously worked as a police officer for about 17 years in a variety of assignments including SWAT, street narcotics and crimes against children. Michael has a Master of Arts in Theology from Grand Canyon University and a Master of Science in Addictions Counseling from Grand Canyon University. Michael is a Licensed Associate Substance Abuse Counselor and is passionate about helping those suffering from mental illness and substance abuse. He also provides pastoral counseling and spiritual counseling to those who seek it.
He enjoys spending time with his wife, seven children, two grandchildren and three dogs. Michael practices Japanese martial arts and enjoys time spent hiking, mountain bike riding and camping.
